Australian Government Capital Grants Program
The Australian Government Capital Grants Program (CGP) provides funding to independent schools to improve capital infrastructure.
The principal intention of CGP is to assist schools to improve learning outcomes for educationally disadvantaged students. The Australian Government views the school authority as having the main responsibility for providing, maintaining and upgrading school facilities. In this context, applications for capital grants may be submitted if a school authority believes there is an educational and financial need for assistance.

Schools eligible to apply for CGP funding may also be eligible to apply for the Queensland Government State Capital Assistance Scheme (SCAS).
Making an Application
To make an application for both CGP and SCAS funds, school authorities will need to use the online application process.
There are many documents and resources available to assist school authorities to complete the application for a capital grant. Understanding the application process can also benefit the accuracy and quality of information provided by the school authority through the application process.
