Diversity and Inclusion Statement

Queensland Independent Schools Block Grant Authority (QIS BGA) works closely with individuals who, as both employees and stakeholders, have unique skills, values, backgrounds and experiences.  As an organisation, we value diversity and inclusion as human entitlements and also celebrate the improvement in capability and business performance that flows from the recognition of individual differences.

Diversity refers to all the characteristics that make individuals unique from one another.  Inclusion refers to the adjustment of workplace practices and behaviours to respond to people to ensure that individuals feel included within workplace activities.  Diversity and inclusion pertain to all people practices we employ, including but not limited to, recruitment and retention, training and development, performance management and goal setting, talent identification, promotion and succession planning and terminations.

QIS BGA is committed to providing an environment in which Directors, employees, committee members and others who may provide their services from time to time have equal access to opportunities available, have genuine feelings of belonging across integrated workplace activities and are not judged by reference to unlawful or irrelevant attributes.  These attributes include, but are not limited to, religion, race, ethnicity, language, gender, sexual orientation, disability and age.

These overarching concepts apply to anyone who is employed by, or works with QIS BGA, as it carries out its normal business.
